Foellinger Foundation’s board of directors has always sought to assemble a board committed to our donor intent and prioritizes serving through our founders’ values of accountability, responsibility, integrity, and results.

We have been so fortunate to have one board member in particular who has gone above and beyond during his service. Please join us in thanking Michael Moellering for his demonstrative leadership!

Mike joined the board in 2015 and served as Board Chair from 2020 through 2023. He completed his final term on the board in December 2024.

Mike’s term as board chair was slated to end in 2022, but after the tragic loss of our chair-elect, Janae McCullough-Boyd, he extended his chairmanship.

In the face of a global pandemic, community change, and staff turnover, Mike’s leadership remained steadfast and unwavering. He recently led the organization through a strategic planning process, during which we reaffirmed our commitment to our enduring mission, vision, strategic intent, and grantmaking.

Mike has supported the evolution of our leadership programs and was critical to our recent initiatives that highlighted our donor intent. This includes An Influence for Good, a documentary about our founders and their family, as well as fulfilling Helene Foellinger’s vision for our building through its renovation, providing a space for community conversation and collaboration.
